Where are you currently living? I currently live in Atlanta, GA.

What are you currently doing with your degree? I studied public health at SU and continued my education at Emory University to pursue an MPH degree. I am interested in the well-being of children and work at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta as a Clinical Researcher. 

How did participating in Immersion Week impact your career path? The Immersion Week impacted my career path tremendously. It showed me the possibilities I could direct my career and the strong alumni network we have. It was the first time I traveled with an organized group to enhance my career and education. This program showed me a world I would never have access to. I was able to tour Google, Quantico, World Bank, and explore Washington D.C. After that experience, I have become an avid traveler. I understand the importance of participating in programs like this, which led me to joining another group called Enheed. In the photo I shared I traveled to my parents home country of Ethiopia and had the opportunity to network with like minded individuals. I toured the African Union, United Nations, Ethiopian Airlines, and so much more. The Immersion Week was the catalyst to the development of my career and showing me the importance of networking. 

Any advice for potential Immersion Week participants/future SU graduates? I would encourage all SU students to take advantage of all the opportunities available to us. We have an incredible network and the opportunities are endless! We are a global institution and you will always find a 'Cuse alumni anywhere you go. College is a chance to expand your thinking, explore options, and network. I thank SU for the foundation in my academic career and opening so many doors. It's only up from here.
